Dr. Monique Aucoin attended Dalhousie University where she studied Kinesiology and furthered her studies at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College graduating with a doctorate degree in Chiropractic. She grew up in Moncton, NB, lived in PEI and now makes her home Halifax, NS. Over the years she has been widely involved in the health industry as a Certified Personal Trainer, aerobics and Yoga instructor. In addition to completing her chiropractic degree, Dr. Aucoin has taken further training in different Chiropractic techniques such as, Activator, Spine Align, and Thompson as well as receiving a diploma in Traditional Chinese Medical Acupuncture. Dr. Aucoin wrote her graduate thesis on the effectiveness of orthotics and continues active research in the orthotics industry.
Dr. Aucoin is a member of the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors, the Canadian Chiropractic Association and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. From Dr. Aucoin’s Acadian background, she is fluently bilingual. Dr. Aucoin is a big believer in a well balanced life, including good nutrition, exercise, relaxation and regular Chiropractic care. Fiona (she/her) graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology. She then pursued her passion for physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University in Glasgow, Scotland graduating with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy. Throughout her masters Fiona has gained experience in a variety of physiotherapy settings such as musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, neurological rehabilitation, and pelvic health. She follows an evidence-based approach to practice and is committed to providing goal-oriented care to help people stay healthy and happy doing what they love.

Originally from Fall River Nova Scotia, Tim moved into the city and pursued a degree in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University. While studying at Dal, Tim took a particular interest in courses surrounding health and fitness and eventually became certified as a personal trainer. Tim became very involved at the Dalhousie Student Union (DSU) where he worked as a Night Manager and assistant to the Vice President Internal while completing his studies. Tim graduated with his degree in Kinesiology in 2014 and shortly after in 2015 found himself beginning his studies at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (CCMH). While at CCMH Tim found himself very interested in clinical assessment and fascial release techniques. In 2017, Tim graduated from CCMH and began working at Maritime Chiropractic and Wellness as a RMT.
Tim tries very hard to achieve a balanced work and social life. Outside of work he spends most of his time with family or friends; either catching up on life, playing games, or partaking in a weekly round of trivia night somewhere in the city.

Monica is a licensed Physiotherapist who works at Maritime Chiropractic & Wellness. She also works part-time as a lab instructor at Dalhousie University and is the President of the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Association.
She is originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick but has lived in Halifax for over 10 years. She graduated with a BSc in Kinesiology with honours from the University of New Brunswick, where she competed for the University’s Swim Team. Monica moved to Halifax to further pursue her education at Dalhousie University. There, she obtained a MSc in Physiotherapy and a MSc in Rehabilitation Research, being the first to complete the dual program within the School of Physiotherapy.
Monica loves the ocean, music, travel, and sports. Growing up Monica played a variety of sports but focused most of her energy on swimming, attending many national competitions including two Canada Summer Games. Monica now fuels her passion for athletics by participating in a local volleyball league. Dr. Brigitte MacPhail graduated from the University of New Brunswick on the Dean’s list with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, where she gained an appreciation for the human body. During her time at UNB, she worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Anatomy labs on campus, and volunteered for the elderly and Parkinson’s population aiding them with rehabilitation and balance exercises. Dr. MacPhail has a passion for curling; in 2007 she competed at the National Junior Curling Championships, and has also been a curling instructor for people with disabilities. It was during her co-op term, and summer vacations spent working as a physiotherapy assistant to physiotherapist Angellie Doiron where she began to realize a career in health care was for her. In her final year at UNB she began to shadow chiropractor, Dr. Rob Allaby, and was impressed by the effectiveness of chiropractic treatment had on his patients. Soon thereafter Dr. MacPhail decided to apply to the chiropractic program in Toronto.
She obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. During this time Dr. MacPhail also completed studies in contemporary medical acupuncture at McMaster University. Dr. MacPhail gained valuable clinical experience at the CMCC campus clinic. She also treated patients with physical and mental disabilities at the Muki Baum external clinic, and provided preventative sports taping, first response to injuries, sideline treatment, and concussion assessments for High School Rugby players.
Dr. MacPhail is a professional member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, and the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors. She has a special interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of the low back, mid-back and neck, TMJ dysfunction, muscle imbalances, and nerve entrapments such as carpal tunnel syndrome. She believes that patient education is imperative to achieving optimal results.

Dr. Travis Power (he/him) graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology, where he developed an understanding of the human body and it’s mechanics. His journey in healthcare began when he worked previously as the kinesiologist at Maritime Chiropractic & Wellness. It was through his tenure at our clinic that he developed a deep interest in chiropractic care, which led him to further his education and become a chiropractor.

Nathan Wessel was born in Halifax and grew up on the beautiful Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia. He attended the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, graduating valedictorian in 2004. Following graduation Nathan completed diplomas in reflexology and Reiki, as well as his first year in osteopathy. Over the course of his years of practice, Nathan has developed a personal treatment approach that blends intuitive deep tissue work with fascial release techniques that allow him to comprehensively treat the fundamental causes of each client’s unique health issues.
